In November of 2011 I developed hot/painful/itchy bumps on my hand and different parts of my body. Looking for answers I turned to the internet and came to the conclusion that I had something called Eczema Herpeticum. Of course, not being a doctor I couldn't have been completely sure about on my own diagnosis. I called my Primary Care Physician to schedule an appointment but they didn't have any appointments available in the near future and told me to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist that I had a referral to. So I scheduled for the very next appointment available which was two days later.
But it got to the point where my hand was so painful and throbbing and I wanted it gone and decided to go to the ER. I told the doctor what I thought was going on. All he did was look at my hand and gave me a prescription of prednisone with the first dose taken at the ER. He brain injury lawyers said I was just having an eczema flare up, that was it. Just went home with my hand still throbbing and in pain.
So a couple days later I went to the dermatologist and I did end up having Eczema Herpeticum and a Staph Infection. They had to put me on antivirals and antibiotics.
