California resident. Was evicted March 2011 by court order without notice, where I lived with companion for 35 years in the home we both chose to buy. My name was not on the deed, so without question I was evicted by court order. I was given one day to go & retrieve my belongings which was almost everything in the home, but forgot my Last Supper frame from the wall, and my X has been refusing to send it to me. The judge gave us both 3 years to stay away from each other, so I can't go retrieve my frame & other things I forgot. My question is: Has too much time passed to go retrieve my frame & the other things, & get accompanied by a police officer?

Well, you were given 3 years on the restraining order and 2 years have passed so you'd better stay away.
You could try having somebody else attempt to retrieve it if that's not prohibited by the restraining order but I seriously doubt that your ex will give that person the time of day, police or no police.
You're best bet is to sue in small claims court for the return of the item or its value.
Unfortunately, if you don't have documentation of ownership, you might be wasting your time.
