I need some assistance, and cannot afford to retain council, unless it is taken on contingency.
In, or shortly prior to, 2007, I was diagnosed with chronic daily migraines, and no cause was discovered. I was referred to a pain management clinic in Stockton, California. Because of allergies to alternative medications, I was placed on opiate narcotic pain killers. Lots of them per month. And I became addicted.
This drug addiction has cost me everything. I mean, everything. And I never would have taken the medicines had I known how addictive they were. A physician told me that due to the amount of prescribed painkillers, any normal person would have become hooked within 30 days.
My question is this: Do I have any recourse against the doctor for over-prescribing, and subsequently causing my addition to the meds?
